SHNAGHAI, May 9(SMM) - The domestic output of lithium carbonate stood at 26,676 mt in April, up 2% on the month and 30% on the year. Production capacity ramped up in some manufacturers while output of the salt lake returned to peak. However, some manufacturers reduced production due to pandemic control, production line maintenance and lack of raw materials, with overall output rising steadily.
In May, as the impact of the pandemic control on the production gradually receded, some of the new capacity was gradually put into production. Output of the salt lake continued to pick up with a month-on-month increase in total industry supply. The domestic output of lithium carbonate is expected to be 29,362 mt in May, a month-on-month increase of 10%.
