Entering 2022, the battery new energy industry continues last year's high boom, and related orders continue to land. According to incomplete statistics of Battery Network, 45 new orders have been announced in the first quarter of 2022, including lithium batteries, positive and negative materials, copper foil and lithium devices.
The power battery head enterprise long order continues.
Globally, on March 31st, South Korean agency SNE Research released the global battery use of electric vehicles from January to February 2022, with the top 10 companies accounting for 91.3% of the market, all from China, Japan and South Korea. Among them, Chinese enterprises account for six seats, and the number of vehicles loaded has doubled in the past two months, with a market share of 56.4%.
From a domestic point of view, the monthly power battery data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance show that from January to February, a total of 41 power battery enterprises in China's new energy vehicle market installed supporting vehicles, and the number of enterprises was the same as that in the same period last year. The top 3, top 5 and top 10 power battery enterprises installed power batteries 23.3GWh, 25.8GWh and 28.3GWh respectively. The ratio of total installed capacity is 78.2%, 86.3% and 94.7%, respectively.
The above data show that the main supply force of the power battery market is still highly concentrated in the head enterprises, and from the newly released orders of the lithium battery industry in the first quarter of 2022, high-quality customer resources are also concentrated to the head enterprises:
Ningde era and FAW Jiefang signed a "five-year supply and demand linkage agreement" to strengthen the close cooperation between the two sides on the supply side of power battery products; Vision Power will provide power battery modules for Mercedes-Benz pure electric SUV star models EQS and EQE to help Mercedes-Benz accelerate the overall electrification transformation and "2039 carbon neutralization Vision"; Yiwei LiNeng has been selected as the power battery supplier for Bosch electric vehicles. Jie Wei Power and Chery New Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement, Chery New Energy plans to purchase a total of about 5 billion yuan of power batteries in the next three years.
Frequency order of domestic lithium electricity equipment
Lithium battery orders continue at the same time, according to recent statistics of the Battery Network, in the first quarter of 2022, lithium battery enterprises represented by BYD, Xinwanda, China New Airlines, Yiwei Lithium Energy, etc., expanded production and increased speed, and successively announced a number of new construction projects, with an overall investment capital of 209.103 billion yuan and an annual production capacity of 579GWh.
The equipment is the first to benefit from the battery capacity competition. According to the newly announced orders of lithium equipment enterprises in the first quarter of 2022, 14 companies announced a total of 17 orders, of which 11 orders with a definite amount totaled 5.468 billion yuan.
In terms of the proportion of revenue, benefiting from the continuous dispatch of orders from Honeycomb Energy and Yiwei LiNeng, Huazi Science and Technology won a new procurement contract of 403 million yuan, accounting for 34.69% of the company's audited operating income in 2020. more than 30% of the company's audited operating income, and Saimo Intelligence won a total of 270 million yuan, accounting for 49.54% of the company's audited operating income. In 2022, Zhongding Integration signed a total contract amount of 685 million yuan, and Haimxing won the bid amount of about 433 million yuan. While the above-mentioned domestic power batteries continue to place orders for domestic lithium battery equipment, overseas companies have also joined the procurement team. Li Yuanheng won a full-line order for new energy intelligence, a listed power battery company in North America in March.
In addition, in the first quarter of 2022, Yinghe Technology and Funeng Oriental also announced their cumulative lithium equipment order information for the first time: Yinghe Technology signed a number of lithium equipment sales contracts with BYD subsidiaries or Sun Company for 12 months in a row, with a cumulative contract amount (including tax) of 1.221 billion yuan, more than 50% of the company's audited operating income in 2020. In the past 12 months and September 2021, Chaoye Precision has successively won a total of 788 million yuan in lithium equipment orders from Ningde Times and its subsidiaries, China New Airlines and its subsidiaries, more than 100% of the company's business income in 2020.
Recently, according to the "White Paper on the Development of China's Lithium-ion Battery equipment Industry (2022)" jointly released by research institutions EVTank, Ivy Economic Research Institute and China Battery Industry Research Institute, the global lithium-ion battery equipment market will be 95.2 billion yuan in 2021, of which China's lithium-ion battery equipment market accounts for 66.6%, reaching 63.43 billion yuan. EVTank predicted in the white paper that with the gradual release of the new capacity planned by global battery enterprises, and taking into account the gradual reduction of investment per unit of GWh battery equipment and the renovation of old equipment, the global lithium-ion battery equipment market will reach 210.46 billion yuan by 2026, and the automation rate of lithium battery equipment will be further improved.
It is worth mentioning that in the first quarter of this year, a number of lithium equipment companies said that the company's current orders are sufficient. On February 16, Corey Technology introduced in the interactive platform that the company is doing well and has full orders. at present, the order for lithium power equipment is more than 1.8 billion yuan. Huang Xianghu, vice president of Dazu Laser, told Battery Network that this year's new orders for laser power batteries are expected to increase by more than 50% over last year. Shenzhen, Yibin, Changzhou, Jingmen and other new energy equipment production bases are all scheduled at full capacity.
Conclusion: with the gradual advance of the dual-carbon goal, EVTank analysis, the demand for automotive power battery (EV LIB) and energy storage battery (ESS LIB) will continue to grow at a high rate, but before 2030, other battery systems will still be difficult to develop on a large scale, and lithium-ion battery will still be the mainstream technology route. EVTank predicts that global lithium-ion battery shipments will grow at a compound rate of 25.6% by 2030, and total shipments may be close to 5TWh by 2030.
The prospect of lithium-ion battery continues to improve, and the relevant capacity planning of power enterprises continues to improve. As of the end of February this year, the planned capacity of China's power battery TOP10 enterprises has exceeded 3TWh, benefiting from the continuous landing of related capacity, the hot order situation of China's lithium power industry is expected to continue.
Take the field of lithium battery equipment as an example. Data from the White Paper on the Development of China's Lithium Ion Battery equipment Industry (2022) show that the localization rate of lithium battery equipment in the Chinese market has reached 90% in 2021. Some domestic manufacturers have been able to provide the main equipment of the lithium electricity production line, and provide integrated design and solutions, and some of the equipment has reached the international advanced level. EVTank expects that with the gradual improvement of the performance and stability of domestic equipment, driven by price and service advantages, after the completion of domestic replacement, the next step will be to provide lithium battery equipment to overseas power battery factories on a large scale.
