On the evening of February 9th, Longbai Group (002601) announced that the first phase of the project (annual output of 25000 tons) of artificial graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries invested and built by Henan China carbon New material Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as "China carbon New Materials"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, has been completed and has entered the stage of trial production.
According to Longbai Group's previous announcement, the total investment of the project with an annual output of 100000 tons of artificial graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries is 1.5 billion yuan, which will be divided into two phases. The first phase will build an annual production line of 25000 tons of artificial graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, and the second phase will build an annual production line of 75000 tons of artificial graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
Longbai Group said that after the project is officially put into production in the future, it will help the company to form a more complete industrial system, marking the formal integration of the company into the new energy material production supply chain. it has laid the foundation for the company to realize the coordinated development of R & D and production of positive and negative materials for new energy batteries. It will help to create new profit growth points, enrich the company's product range, and further improve the company's anti-risk ability and competitiveness, which will have a positive impact on the future development of the company.
Battery Network noted that 2021 is a year of continuous outbreak in the field of new energy. Longbai Group has seized the opportunity and has been investing continuously in the field of positive and negative materials since last year.
In the first half of 2021, Longbai Group officially entered the new energy field by acquiring a 100% stake in Henan China carbon New material Technology Co., Ltd., the company announced plans to set up a joint venture with Hubei Wanrun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in Nanzhang County, Hubei Province to build an annual production capacity of 100000 tons of iron phosphate project; On August 12, the company announced that it plans to build three new energy projects: the annual production of 200000 tons of ferric phosphate for battery materials, the industrialization of 200000 tons of lithium-ion battery materials, and the annual production of 100000 tons of artificial graphite anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. On November 30th, the company announced that Henan Baili New Energy Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, intends to invest 3.5 billion yuan to build an integrated project with an annual production capacity of 200000 tons of lithium-ion battery anode materials. On December 1st, the company announced that it had signed an investment contract with the Nanzhang county government to build an annual production of 150000 tons of battery-grade lithium iron phosphate project.
According to the information of the interactive platform, the new energy material projects currently under construction by Longbai Group include: Xiangyang base 100000 tons of iron phosphate, 150000 tons of lithium iron phosphate project, Qinyang base 200000 tons of lithium iron phosphate project, Jiaozuo base 100000 tons of battery negative electrode, 200000 tons of iron phosphate project. Among them, the first phase of 200000 tons of iron phosphate, 200000 tons of lithium iron phosphate and 100000 tons of graphite negative electrode project is expected to be completed and put into production by the end of the year.
It is worth noting that, according to incomplete statistics of EVTank, China currently has a production capacity of 607000 tons of LFP materials. According to the capacity planning of major enterprises, the total production capacity of LFP materials in China will reach 1.942 million tons by 2025. From the demand end, the global demand for LFP materials in 2025 is 1.955 million tons. Considering that the new capacity can not be fully released, LFP materials are generally tight before 2025.
In terms of anode materials, Wu Hui, director of the China Battery Industry Research Institute, said that the overall capacity of the negative electrode industry is sufficient, but the key link is graphitization, and there is uncertainty about the commissioning of the project. The global demand for anode materials for lithium batteries is expected to reach 2.262 million tons in 2025 and 5.499 million tons in 2030. On the supply side, according to incomplete statistics, the production capacity of negative materials of major Chinese enterprises will reach 2.817 million tons in 2025. Taking into account the overseas production capacity, the global production capacity of negative materials is greater than the demand. However, the negative electrode material belongs to the high energy consumption industry, considering that part of the production capacity can not be fully put into production because of the energy consumption index, and graphitization is the key link that restricts the capacity release of negative electrode material. Therefore, the whole negative material industry is basically in a state of balance between supply and demand in the future.
