Other

In the world's top 10, there are three South Korean companies, they are LG New Energy, SK On and Samsung SDI. The three South Korean companies have mixed feelings, with a total share of 30.4 per cent, slightly lower than in 2020.

But in 2021, when Chinese companies launched a large-scale offensive, all three South Korean companies achieved more than double-digit growth.

Among them, LG New Energy followed the Ningde era, maintaining the second place in terms of installed capacity 60.2GWh, with an increase of 75.51% over the same period last year, and its market share reached 20.3%. SK On got the fifth good result of the year for the first time, with 16.7% installed capacity, an increase of 106.17% over the same period last year. Samsung SDI ranked sixth with 13.2 GWH installed, an increase of 55.29% over the same period last year.

It is worth noting that the growth rate of most Japanese companies, including Panasonic, is below the market average and their market share has declined. However, Panasonic still ranks third in the world in terms of 36.1GWh installed capacity.

In addition, the latest SNE data show that the global battery use of electric vehicles was 43.7 GWH in December 2021, an increase of 53.2% over the same period last year. This marks the 18th consecutive month of growth.

Finally, although Chinese power battery enterprises have made outstanding achievements in the global market in 2021, 2022 is a new beginning. Problems such as the acceleration of overseas expansion of the world's major power battery companies and the shortage of semiconductors still exist in the new year. Whether Chinese enterprises can continue to perform well in the face of various threats has attracted much attention.
