U.S. Secretary Of Commerce Raimondo to Visit Japan and Discuss the Cancellation of Tariffs on Japanese Steel and Aluminium

Secretary of Commerce Raimondo will visit Tokyo on November 15 for the first time. Catherine Dai (Dai Qi), representative of the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), will also visit Japan on the same day.

SHANGHAI, Nov 8 (SMM) – Secretary of Commerce Raimondo will visit Tokyo on November 15 for the first time. Catherine Dai (Dai Qi), representative of the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), will also visit Japan on the same day.

The two sides are expected to discuss issues such as the additional tariffs imposed by the United States on steel and aluminium imported from Japan. Raimondo will visit Singapore on November 16 and 17 and Malaysia on November 18. She said: "Rebuilding the alliance is indispensable for strengthening the international competitiveness of the United States and cooperation will make US economy securer. The U.S. Department of Commerce stated that the topics of the Asia trip also include restoring the supply chain that has been sluggish due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
