The operating rates of blast furnaces at steel mills rose 5.46% on the week and fell 0.95% from a month ago to 79.3% as of September 29, SMM survey showed.

SHANGHAI, Oct 13 (SMM) - The operating rates of blast furnaces at steel mills rose 5.46% on the week and fell 0.95% from a month ago to 79.3% as of September 29, SMM survey showed.

The operating rates of blast furnaces surged entering October, mainly because many blast furnaces in Jiangsu and Shandong, which suspended production in late September, resumed production in October.

The operating rates next week are likely to see mild volatility.
