At noon today, Ningde Times announced that the company intends to invest in the construction of Bangpu Integrated Battery material Industry Park project by Guangdong Bangpu and its holding subsidiaries in Tianjiahe area of Yichang City, Hubei Province. The total investment amount of the project does not exceed 32 billion yuan. The main construction of waste battery materials recovery, lithium iron phosphate and ternary precursors, lithium iron phosphate, lithium cobalt and ternary cathode materials, graphite, phosphoric acid and other intensive, large-scale production base.
Ningde Times said in the announcement that the project aims to meet the company's power battery capacity expansion needs, give full play to the advantages of industrial coordination, ensure the company's battery material supply, and promote the company's goal of decommissioned power battery life cycle management. it is of great significance to control costs and enhance the competitiveness of products.
In terms of shareholding, Ningbo Bangpu Times New Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Bangpu holding, holds 65%, and Hubei Yihua holds 35%. The main business of the former basically focuses on resource recycling technology, energy recovery system, recycling of waste power batteries of new energy vehicles, and so on.
There are signs that the highlight of the 32 billion project in Ningde era lies in the recycling of waste batteries and the resulting battery materials.
This is not the first layout in the field of battery recycling in the Ningde era. As early as 2013, Ningde era has been involved in the battery recycling business through the acquisition of Bump cycle; in 2018, SAIC reached a strategic cooperation with Ningde Times to jointly promote the recycling of power batteries for new energy vehicles.
It is worth mentioning that, as an important subsidiary of Ningde era, Hunan Bangpu is currently the largest recycling base of waste batteries in China, with a total amount of recycling and disposal of waste batteries of more than 6000 tons a year. Now the big increase once again shows that the battery giant attaches great importance to this field.
Coincidentally, since the second half of the year, LG Energy, SK Innovation, Samsung SDI, Tesla, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology and so on have joined the war. The war in the new energy automobile industry has gone from battery manufacturing to recycling.
The market scale of batteries entering the large-scale scrapping period is on the order of one million.
According to national regulations, if the power battery capacity declines to less than 80% of the rated capacity, it will be decommissioned and forced to be recycled, while the power batteries equipped with the first batch of new energy vehicles have been decommissioned. According to the data, the decommissioning of power batteries in China is as high as 200000 tons (about 25GWh) in 2020, and it is expected that the number of decommissioned batteries will increase by more than one million magnitude every year after 2025.
On the one hand, scrapped lithium batteries contain electrolytes and organic solvents, so it is difficult to deal with them and must be regulated; on the other hand, there are also valuable precious metals such as cobalt, lithium and nickel in waste lithium batteries, which can be recycled through batteries. Battery manufacturers can obtain lithium, cobalt, nickel and other raw materials to avoid the influence of price fluctuations. According to the "Market scale and Recycling Technology of waste Lithium Ion batteries", even lithium iron phosphate batteries with the lowest precious metal content have a lithium content of 1.6%, which is still higher than the raw ore developed and utilized in China with a grade of only 0.8-1.4%.
Therefore, in the case of the shortage of materials and the fact that the upstream link has become a must for soldiers, it is no wonder that many players are eager to get a piece of the pie.
On the other hand, the policy side has also seen many times of power battery recycling recently.
In August, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other five departments issued the measures for the Management of echelon Utilization of Power batteries for New Energy vehicles, and the Ministry of Ecology issued the Technical Specification for pollution Control of waste Lithium Ion Power batteries (for trial implementation). Standardize and guide the treatment process of waste lithium-ion power batteries. In early July, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments issued a circular on the development plan of circular economy during the 14th five-year Plan, which also gave important guidance to the traceability management system and echelon utilization of power batteries.
From the perspective of the market pattern, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued two battery comprehensive utilization whitelists in 2018 and 2021 respectively, totaling 27 enterprises.
In addition to the battery manufacturers such as BYD, Ningde Times, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, and Lulai, which have already arranged battery recycling,
Sinorama Science and Technology, as one of the first batch of five companies that meet the requirements, has a strong advantage in the field of battery recycling.
Grammy's revenue in the first half of the year was 8 billion yuan, up 42.51% from the same period last year, and its net profit was 537 million yuan, up 151.10% from the same period last year
In addition, Everbright Securities also recommended Zhongwei shares and suggested to pay attention to Sinorama Technology and Tianqi shares.
