China’s Exports of Aluminium Wheel Up 28.15% MoM in July

SHANGHAI, Sep 1 (SMM) – According to customs data, China's aluminium wheel exports in July 2021 were 84,800 mt, an increase of 28.15% month-on-month and 6.87% year-on-year.

The United States, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and Thailand remained top five importers. The export volume to the five countries were 36,900 mt, 14,000 mt, 6,100 mt, 5,400 mt, and 4,500 mt respectively, accounting for 43.53%, 16.53%, 7.23%, 6.37%, and 5.26% in the total exports.

The exports to US increased 5,300 mt or 16.9% on the month, and that to Japan increased 2,300 mt or 19.86%, as the downstream demand strengthened after the pandemic was controlled in the two countries. On the other hand, the exports to Mexico fell 1,800 mt or 22.69% on the month.

The automobile industry remained in the off-season in August, and the chip supply remained tight. The exports of aluminium wheel is expected to see little increase in August. The export volume is expected to rise steadily in September in the traditional peak season.
