There is only one month left in the leading stock, and the shortage of MLCC supply has intensified.

Under the epidemic situation, people are in a state of panic, and under the impact of the Delta virus, the control measures of Malaysia, the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries have been upgraded one after another. As Southeast Asia is the center of the production of electronic components, there are frequent concerns about supply in the industry.

According to DigiTimes today, citing industry sources, there may be a supply shortage in the MLCC market in the second half of this year, and the inventory level of Samsung Motor MLCC, one of the leading motors, has only one month left.

Looking at the global MLCC market, Murata, Samsung Electric and Sun luring Power have a combined market share of more than 70%.

Samsung Electric's Philippine factory mainly produces middle and low-end MLCC components, with a monthly production capacity of about 15% of the standard market, and a capacity utilization rate of more than 90%, second only to the company's Tianjin plant. In addition, Murata's local factory is dominated by automotive MLCC components, with a monthly production capacity of about 18% of the automotive market. TrendForce has previously warned that although the two plants are not currently included in the controlled areas, there is a growing risk of uncertainty in capacity and shipments if the epidemic is not effectively controlled in the short term. Now it seems that half of this concern has become a reality.

Let's take a look at another leading company, Sun Yodian. The company's Damascus plant resumed work on June 14, and the capacity utilization rate returned to 80% Murray 85%. However, affected by the extension of regulation in July, it is difficult for the overall production capacity to break up. In addition, Sun Inductive Power has also set up a factory in the Philippines.

The gap between supply and demand is widening. Guoju, a large manufacturer of passive components, will reveal at the end of last month that the visibility of standardized product orders is about 3 months, high-end products can reach 8-10 months, the order-to-shipment ratio is maintained at 1.5, and the inventory level continues to be lower than 60 days. Liu Kai, an analyst at Everbright Securities, estimates that the global demand for MLCC is 4500-500 billion / month, the global supply is about 440 billion / month, and the capacity gap is about 10-50 billion / month. The tight supply and demand is expected to last until 2022.

A number of analysts believe that under the pressure that some MLCC may not be able to ship smoothly, companies that have set up factories in areas less affected by the epidemic are expected to usher in transfer orders.

Among the relevant domestic manufacturers,

Fenghua Hi-Tech has automotive gauge-grade MLCC, chip resistors, inductors, aluminum electrolytic capacitor products, the company said that MLCC and resistor capacity is at full load;

National porcelain materials said that the MLCC market demand is strong, the current state of full-load production, the newly planned capacity of 2500 tons in the acceleration process;

Sanhuan Group issued a pre-plan in May to raise 7.5 billion yuan for the expansion project and the construction of the research institute. After the completion of the project, it is expected to increase the annual production of 300 billion MLCC, 24 billion ceramic packaging bases and 600 million ceramic substrates.

Jiemei Technology is the leading enterprise of paper carrier upstream of passive components such as MLCC.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
