Colombian aluminum supplier to build South America's first aluminum smelter with an annual capacity of 540000 tons

SMM11 March 23: EGA Aluminium, United Arab Emirates, signed an agreement with NEO Aluminio Colombia, an aluminum supplier headquartered in Colombia.

The agreement uses the technology output of EGA to develop the first aluminum production facility in South American countries.

NEO Aluminio Colombia is currently evaluating the feasibility of building a low-carbon aluminum production facility in the northwest of the country, which is Colombia's green aluminum conversion plant (Galtco).

The project, powered by hydroelectric power, aims to increase the annual production capacity of aluminum to 540000 tons.
