Aluminium billet inventories accelerated decline on week

SMM data showed that stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China fell 20,000 mt from May 14 to 92,800 mt as of May 21. The stocks shrank 19,300 mt between May 6 and 14.

SHANGHAI, May 21 (SMM) – Inventories of aluminium billet in China extended their decline this week as shipments from warehouses were stable while arrivals remained limited.


SMM data showed that stocks of 6063 aluminium billet across five major consumption areas in China fell 20,000 mt from May 14 to 92,800 mt as of May 21. The stocks shrank 19,300 mt between May 6 and 14.


Stocks decreased in four out of the five areas with inventories in Foshan falling more than 10,000 mt on the week. Only Nanchang saw its inventories slightly higher this week.
