Jiangxi copper's Wushan mine to expand ore dressing capacity to 10,000 mt/day

SHANGHAI, Nov 25 (SMM) – Jiangxi Copper, the largest copper producer in Mainland China, planned to expand the ore dressing capacity of its Wushan copper mine to 10,000 mt/day from the current 6,000 mt/day in no longer than five years, according to sources on November 25.

The Wushan copper mine has a raw ore grade of around 0.5%, with existing copper concentrate capacity of 14,000 mt in metal content per year. All its processed ores were supplied to copper smelters under Jiangxi Copper.

China's copper concentrate imports were 1.92 million mt in April, down 11.51% month on month and 5.32% year on year. Imports totalled 7.88 million mt from January to April, up 4.05% year on year.
