Jiangxi Ganzhou Longkai Technology to build LMO, lithium carbonate project

The project is designed to produce up to 15,000 mt of LMO cathode materials and 5,500 mt of lithium carbonate in a year

SHANGHAI, Aug 21 (SMM) – Ganzhou Longkai Technology plans to build a project that could produce up to 15,000 mt of lithium manganese oxide (LMO) cathode materials and 5,500 mt of battery- or industrial-grade lithium carbonate in a year, according to the Ecology and Environmental Bureau of Ganzhou of Jiangxi province.

As of Tuesday August 20, prices of domestic battery-grade lithium carbonate stood at 62,000-65,000 yuan/mt, and those for capacity-type LMO came in at 29,000-34,000 yuan/mt, showed SMM assessments.
