Ningbo Shanshan to build high-nickel cathode materials project in Hunan

It will invest 1.58 billion yuan to construct a project with capacity of 28,800 mt/year
SHANGHAI, Apr 25 (SMM) – Shanshan Energy, a unit under Ningbo Shanshan, planned to invest about 1.58 billion yuan to build a high-nickel cathode materials project with designed capacity of 28,800 mt/year in Changsha of Hunan province, the company said in a statement on Wednesday April 24.
This is expected to expand Shanshan's capacity in producing high-end lithium-ion battery materials and strengthen its competitiveness in the new energy industry.
Shanshan’s lithium battery materials business registered an operating revenue of over 7 billion yuan for the year of 2018, up 16.06% from 2017, according to the company’s annual report released on late Wednesday.
Net profit attributable to shareholders, however, fell 21.67% to 441.16 million yuan.
