SHANGHAI, Oct 18 (SMM) –Some 121,000 new-energy vehicles (NEVs) were sold across China in September, an increase of 54.8% from September 2017, showed data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
This grew overall NEVs sales in January-September to 721,000 units, soaring 81.1% on a yearly basis.
Also in September, automakers produced 127,000 NEVs in China, up 64.4% from a year earlier. Of which, pure electric vehicles accounted for 100,000 units, up 56.1% on the year, and plug-in hybrid ones accounted for 27,000 units, up 104.3% on the year.
Sales of pure electric vehicles came in at 94,000 units, 47% higher than September 2017; and sales of plug-in hybrid ones surged 90% year on year to stand at 27,000 units.
