Aoyang Shunchang to add 2GWh of capacity by year-end

The major producer of lithium batteries in China will expand capacity by 2GWh by the end of this year

SHANGHAI, Jul 9 (SMM) – Aoyang Shunchang, a major producer of lithium batteries in China, will expand capacity by 2GWh by the end of this year, the company said last week. Equipment for the new capacity has been installed.

The Jiangsu-based producer has overall lithium battery capacity of 3GWh. It has capacity of 2GWh for the production of nickel-cobalt-aluminium oxide (NCA) battery and 811 cylindrical battery with a high nickel content.

Aoyang Shunchang added that current production of lithium batteries is at full capacity and has confirmed orders until September.
