SHANGHAI, Sep 10 (SMM) – Stainless steel mills in east China will throttle down its production of cold-rolled products in September, as high costs drive them to slash purchases of hot-rolled feedstock, SMM learned.

A mill will suspend for about 10 days, which is expected to impact one-third of its supply for the month.

Another will halve its production of 304 cold-rolled stainless steel this month. This is expected to lower supply by some 30,000 mt.
