Vale to cut down nickel output in future 5 years, mainly in Canada

Vale is going to cut down its nickel output in future 5 years, said Vale on an annual investors’ dcay at COMEX.

SHANGHAI, Dec.8 (SMM)-Vale is going to cut down its nickel output in future 5 years, said Vale on an annual investors’ day at COMEX.

The estimated nickel output of Vale in 2018 is 263,000 tons, dropping 8% on yearly basis. The company will produce 262,000, 268,000, 266,000 and 280,000 tons nickel from 2019-2022, which is reduced by 17.1%,11%,11.9% and 7.0% respectively. The main region of declining output is in Canada due to its previous weak market performance.
