Zinc mines and smelters have been hit by environmental protection inspections in the region, and the impact is also felt by zinc downstream sectors, Shanghai Metals Market survey finds.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 20 (SMM) – Zinc mines and smelters have been hit by environmental protection inspections in the region, and the impact is also felt by zinc downstream sectors, Shanghai Metals Market survey finds. 

SMM learns that galvanizing and zinc oxide producers in the region have halted production for more than 1 months. Production is expected to recover slowly after the 2017 Chinese National Day holiday in early October.
