SHANGHAI, Aug. 3 (SMM) – Tangshan’s Mayor scheduled works for the second half of year on air pollution prevention and control on August 2, 2017, with five main plans.

First, all gasoline and diesel trucks should stop delivering coal at ports from September, and natural gas-vehicles are not restricted. Government may promote to switch oil to natural gas in the future. Delivery for iron ore has not been decided yet. As overload inspections at ports of Caofeidian and Jingtang during July 26-30 tightened transportation capacity, steel mills raised freight charges by 15 yuan per tonne, SMM learns. But this still cannot satisfy transportation demand at steel mills.

Third, producers should close eliminated capacities down as soon as possible. Fourth, producers are encouraged to switch coal-fired equipment by natural gas-fired one and crack down 10t/h coal-fired boilers. Fifth, the government should prevent revival of small and unqualified producers.
