SHFE 1705 nickel opened at RMB 85,620/mt and finally closed at RMB 85,800/mt, down 2.29%.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 12 (SMM) – On Thursday, LME market didn’t open as usual due to fault. SHFE 1705 nickel opened at RMB 85,620/mt and then fluctuated narrowly. During the afternoon trading, SHFE 1705 nickel dipped to RMB 85,200/mt. LME market resumed trading at around 14:00. SHFE 1705 nickel finally closed at RMB 85,800/mt, down 2.29%. Trading volumes increased 120,000 to 533,000 lots and positions rose 33,000 to 577,000. SHFE 1705 nickel finally closed below the 10-day moving average on Thursday.

SHFE 1705 nickel will fluctuate at low and will not decline further on Thursday’s night trading with firm ferrous metals.

[SMM Nickel Flash] The SMM average price of 10-12% high-grade NPI fell 17.2 yuan/mtu WoW to 1,035.8 yuan/mtu (ex-factory, tax included), while the Indonesia NPI FOB index average price dropped 2.06 $/mtu WoW to 131.2 $/mtu.
