Zijin Mining Announces Output Target for Major Mineral Products in 2017

Zijin Mining Group released its production target for major mineral products in 2017, SMM understands.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 10 (SMM) - Zijin Mining Group released its production target for major mineral products in 2017, SMM understands.

It plans to produce 41 tonnes of gold ore, 221.8 tonnes of silver ore, 200,000 tonnes of copper ore, 300,000 tonnes of lead and zinc ore and 2 million tonnes of iron concentrate.

Lead Prices Likely to Stand High after Gaining over 13% in Just 15 Trading Days

The most traded SHFE lead contract kept rising after hitting the lowest level since June 2020 at 14,055 yuan/mt on September 23. SHFE lead reached a nearly three-month high at 16,330 yuan/mt in the overnight trading on September 20. In the intraday trading on September 21, the most traded SHFE lead contract closed 1.5% higher at 15,945 yuan/mt, up 1,890 yuan/mt or 13.4% from September 23.

Zinc Demand Likely to be Sluggish in Traditional Seasonal High

According to SMM research, domestic monthly output of zinc concentrate continued to rise since March, 2021. The TCs for imported ore led the downward correction since late August, and the TCs for domestic ore fell since end of September. The current supply of ore was still tight even the smelting capacity has been constrained by the power rationing. The TCs are likely to drop further in Q4.
