China Rare Earth Exports Fall in September

China’s rare earth exports jumped on a year-on-year basis in September, but fell from August.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 19 (SMM) –China’s rare earth exports jumped on a year-on-year basis in September, but fell from August.

Customs data showed exports were 3,674 tonnes in September, up 21.1% from a year ago, but down 11.9% from a month ago. The average export price was $7.8/kg, down 20.4% year-on-year, but up 17.4% mon-on-month. 

Exports totaled 35,003 tonnes during the first nine months of this year, up 49.6% from a year ago.
