Inner Mongolia Silicon Metal Producers Stay Offline on Environmental Factors, SMM Reports

#553 oxygen-free silicon metal producers in Inner Mongolia have suspended production since late June, and resumption work has been delayed, Shanghai Metals Market report.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 26 (SMM) – #553 oxygen-free silicon metal producers in Inner Mongolia have suspended production since late June, and resumption work has been delayed, Shanghai Metals Market report. 

The offline producers said in mid July that they would restart work in late July, but latest news report that they have changed their plans.

The environmental protection inspections in Inner Mongolia will not end until around Aug. 14, and some silicon metal producers in Bayan Nur say they will return to work after the inspections, according to SMM sources. 

On Jul. 26, traded prices of #553 silicon metal (oxygen free) at the Port of Tianjin were mainly at 9,500 yuan per tonne, and 9,900-10,100 yuan per tonne for #553 silicon metal (oxygen).
