SHANGHAI, Jun. 19 (SMM) – 70% of copper tube/pipe producers in China expect orders to remain stable in June, an SMM survey of 20 producers reveals.
These producers argue that air conditioner manufacturers are still running at high operating rates in preparation for the boom season in July and August. In July, however, some air conditioner enterprises will start summer holidays, and some others are expected to slow production due to the high temperatures.
30% of producers predict orders will decline in June, as some smaller air conditioner manufacturers already reported lower operating rates. In addition, inverter air conditioners are taking market share from some non-leading brands, driving output down at some manufacturers. As a consequence, small and medium copper tube/pipe producers already saw orders down in May, and hence remained cautious towards June’s sales.
