40% Chinese Copper Tube/Pipe Plants See Orders Falling in June

About 40% Chinese copper tube/pipe producers expect their orders to decrease in June, while 60% see orders stabilize, according to the latest SMM survey of 20 domestic copper tube/pipe producers.

SHANGHAI, Jun. 20 (SMM) - About 40% Chinese copper tube/pipe producers expect their orders to decrease in June, while 60% see orders stabilize, according to the latest SMM survey of 20 domestic copper tube/pipe producers.

The average operating rate at copper tube/pipe producers is expected to slide to 70.12% in June, SMM predicts.

“Production fell across major domestic air-conditioner producers in June. Output at Gree, Midea and Haier was down 15%, 11% and 17%, respectively, on a year-on-year basis.” SMM said.

Orders at copper tube/pipe producers weakened in June, but those from military and ship sectors were brisk.
