Japanese H2 scrap base prices rise in Tokyo Bay region

The base price of Japanese H2 scrap has gone higher in the Tokyo Bay region. The base price of P&S scraps and Shindachi scrap also has shown improvement.

TOKYO (Scrap Monster) : The base price of Japanese H2 scrap has gone higher in the Tokyo Bay region. The base price of P&S scraps and Shindachi scrap also has shown improvement.

According to data, the Japanese H2 scrap base price in the Tokyo Bay region increased by ¥ 1,000/ton to ¥ 29,000~ ¥ 29,500/ton FAS as of Friday, 28th March, 2014.

Also, the base price of P&S scraps in the region averaged at ¥ 33,000 ~ ¥ 33,500/ton.

The base price of Shindachi scraps too averaged at ¥ 33,000 ~ ¥ 33,500/ton.

According to industry sources, the increased demand may keep the H2 scrap prices higher in the region.

Meanwhile, Tokyo Steel has announced a rise of ¥ 1,000/ton in scrap purchasing prices effective April 1st, 2014 at the Utsunomiya works. The scrap purchasing prices at Utsunomiya works in northern Kanto have now increased to ¥ 30,000/ton.

Also, the scrap purchasing prices at Okayama works in Western Japan were at ¥ 32,000/ton and those in Kyushu works remained flat at ¥ 33,000/ton.Tokyo Steel’s scrap purchasing prices in Tahara works in Central Japan were at ¥ 32,000/ton, while those in Takamatsu steel center were at ¥ 31,000/ton.
