South China Aluminum: Selling Willingness Low, Prices Firm

The most active SHFE aluminum price opened higher and gave back some gains July 20, trimming increases in spot aluminum prices.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 20 (SMM) – The most active SHFE aluminum price opened higher and gave back some gains July 20, trimming increases in spot aluminum prices. In South China, spot prices were held firm at RMB 15,500/mt as some cargo holders were reluctant to move goods at low prices. Downstream consumption remained unimproved with only some dealers buying goods at lower prices. Mainstream traded prices were around RMB 15,510/mt, and transactions rose marginally.
