East China Aluminum: Aluminum Prices Lack Up Momentum with Consumption Staying Weak

Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 15,900-15,920/mt Monday

SHANGHAI, Jun. 11 (SMM) – Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 15,900-15,920/mt Monday, and low-iron aluminum was traded between RMB 15,990-16,020/mt in Shanghai. China’s economic data for May was reported mixed, combined with weakening demand, the SHFE current-month aluminum contract price hovered around RMB 15,920/mt with little upward momentum. Cargo holders in spot aluminum prices were moving goods actively, but downstream, purchases were still limited. Mainstream traded prices in Shanghai remained slight discounts against SHFE aluminum price. Transactions in Wuxi and Hangzhou were limited.
