East China Aluminum: Spot Prices Continue to Fall with Most Transactions Done at Low Prices

Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 16,060-16,080/mt on Thursday.

SHANGHAI, May 10 (SMM) – Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 16,060-16,080/mt on Thursday, with discount of RMB 10/mt to premiums of RMB 10/mt over the SHFE current-month aluminum price. Low-iron aluminum was traded between RMB 16,150-16,170/mt in Shanghai. Traded prices of spot aluminum in Wuxi were between RMB 16,080-16,100/mt and traded prices in Hangzhou were between RMB 16,060-16,080/mt. SHFE aluminum prices continued downtrends and dragged down spot prices. Demand from enterprises downstream remained weak, while cargo holders were not willing to move goods at low prices. Most transactions were made at low prices with trading still modest.
