Baosteel Reports 1.5b Yuan Profit in Q1

Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd generated 1.5 billion yuan ($241 million) in profit in the first quarter of the year.

May 8 -- Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd generated 1.5 billion yuan ($241 million) in profit in the first quarter of the year, a year-on-year increase of 470 million yuan.

An announcement on the company's website said it expects net profit in the first half of the year to surge 80 to 100 percent from the same period last year.
