East China Aluminum: Prices Resilient to Declines, Transactions Mainly at Low Prices

Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 16,150-16,180/mt Friday.

SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) – Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 16,150-16,180/mt Friday, with discount of RMB 0-30/mt over the SHFE current-month aluminum price. Low-iron aluminum was traded between RMB 16,240-16,260/mt in Shanghai. Traded prices of spot aluminum in Wuxi were between RMB 16,160-16,180/mt. SHFE aluminum prices were resilient to declines and spot prices hovered between RMB 16,170-16,180/mt during trading session. Replenishments at enterprises downstream were not active ahead of the weekend, while cargo holders were willing to move goods but held prices firmly at RMB 16,150/mt. Transactions were mainly done at low prices.
