SHANGHAI, Apr. 12 (SMM) -- According to SMM exclusive data, China’s output of nickel contained in NPI during March was 23,402.66 mt, down 0.29% from February’s 23,471.7 mt, but up 2.15% from 22,911 mt during March 2011.
China’s NPI output in March was 441,900 mt, up 19.05% from February’s 371,200 mt, and up 32.66% from 333,100 mt in March 2011.

Low grade NPI output increased, and the survey reveals that no low grade NPI producers have plans to cut or suspend production. Medium grade NPI output decreased on a monthly basis, with 57% of medium grade NPI producers saying they may consider cutting production. 20% of high grade NPI producers said they would cut or suspend production.
