South China Aluminum: Futures Fall, Spot Market Remain Stagnant

On Thursday, SHFE 1205 aluminum contract price opened at RMB 16,160/mt.

SHANGHAI, Mar. 22 (SMM) – On Thursday, SHFE 1205 aluminum contract price opened at RMB 16,160/mt. Later, prices were dragged down due to worse Manufacturing PMI data, and finally closed at RMB 16,105/mt, down RMB 55/mt or 0.34%. Spot prices in Nanhai remained stable between RMB 15,970-15,990/mt. Consumption downstream was weak, while some traders were not willing to move goods. Limited sales and low buying interest led to stagnant spot markets.
