SHANGHAI, Mar. 12 (SMM) – The most active SHFE aluminum contract price rose above RMB 16,200/mt briefly and then soon surrendered the gains on Monday. However, the declines were limited with prices showing a sign of rebound. As a result, downstream buyers in South China were active in bargain-hunting. In the afternoon, transactions in South China market were relatively brisk before the opening of aluminum futures market, driving prices up, with main transactions done at RMB 15,940-15,960/mt. Later, however, transactions turned modest.
