November Operating Rates at Aluminum Plate, Sheet and Strip Producers at 54.77%

SHANGHAI, Dec. 13 (SMM) -- According to a recent SMM survey of 34 domestic aluminum plate, sheet and strip producers with capacity totaling 4.1658 million mt, operating rates at these producers were 54.77% during November, up 1.18% from 53.59% in October.

SMM sources report that medium and large producers had a strong ability to attract more orders by reasonably adjusting prices. Operating rates at large producers were up to 52.47% and operating rates at medium producers returned to 62.73%, while operating rates at small producers were down to 67.49% during November.

SMM predicts operating rates at domestic aluminum plate, sheet and strip producers will be about 55% during December based on new orders for December.
