MOSCOW, Nov 21, 2011 (Dow Jones) -- Ukraine exported 1.15 million metric tons of alumina in the first nine months of the year, 7.9% more than in the corresponding period of 2010, the government reported Monday.
The exported alumina was worth $372.98 million.
Alumina exports in September totaled 121,990 tons, 7.6% less than in August and 0.07% less than in September 2010. The alumina exported in September was worth $41.49 million, 3.9% less than in August. Most alumina was exported to Russia.
In 2010 Ukraine exported 1.44 million tons of alumina, 3.2% more than in 2009.
Alumina in Ukraine is produced by the Mykolaev Alumina Plant and the Zaporozhye Aluminum Combine, both belonging to UC Rusal.
