Mar. 17 -- One of Indonesia’s larger private smelters hopes for an LME listing of its brand, Metal Bulletin reports. Indonesia's PT Bukit Timah has applied to the London Metal Exchange (LME) to list its "IMLI" brand of 99.90% tin ingot on the exchange, said a company spokesman. "We have looked into listing in LME from 2009, and formally talked to the exchange representative in the second half of last year," said spokesman Dian Trihardjo. Currently only Indonesia’s two large integrated producers, PT Timah and PT Koba Tin, have their brands approved as good delivery to LME warehouses.
PT Bukit Timah has a rated capacity of 1,500 tpm of refined tin and the company says it is currently producing 600 – 800 tpm. It is part of the diversified Indoprima group, which also owns the lead producer PT Indra Eramulti Logam Industri (IMLI).
