India's NALCO Sells 270,000 T Alumina for 2011: Source

BHUBANESWAR, India, Sept. 20 -- India's National Aluminium Co Ltd (NALCO) (NALU.BO) sold 270,000 tonnes of alumina in a long-term contract for 2011 at 15.83 percent of the monthly average LME aluminium price on an FOB basis, a company source said on Monday.

The alumina will be shipped in nine batches to the buyer, European trading firm Trafigura, from January to December 2011, the source, close to the tendering process but could not be named due to company policy, said.

NALCO last sold alumina on a long-term contract for the current year at 15.055 percent of LME aluminium price on an FOB basis in December.
