LIMA, Mar 24, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- A strike at the Doe Run-owned Cobriza copper mine, Peru's sixth largest, entered its second day Wednesday, a union official said.

Doe Run Peru is a unit of the U.S.-based Renco Group Inc.

"There will be a meeting tomorrow in Lima between the union and the company," to try to resolve the issue of the bonus demanded by workers, said Luis Castillo, general secretary of Peru's National Federation of Mining.

The strike is the second this year at Cobriza, which produced 18,519 metric tons of copper in 2009, according to mining ministry figures.
