SMM10, March 30: a few days ago, first Quantum released its third-quarter production report. During the reporting period, the company's copper production totaled 211396 tons, up 9.8 percent from the same period last year, and copper sales were 197533 tons, down 3 percent from the same period last year. Gold production totaled 72926 ounces, up 4 percent from the same period last year, and gold sales were 78013 ounces, up 8.9 percent from the same period last year.
The increase in the company's copper production was mainly due to increased production at the Sentinel copper mine in Zambia and the Cobre Panama copper mine in Panama. Among them, Sentinel performed well in the third quarter, reaching an all-time high of 70829 tons of quarterly production and a record low cash cost.
First Quantum's full-year copper production guidance was raised to 75-785000 tonnes and gold production guidance was also raised to 2.4-260000 ounces, although nickel production is expected to fall from 1.5-17000 tonnes to 1.3-15000 tonnes in 2020.
