SHANGHAI, Jun 13 (SMM) - China's power battery output totalled 28.9 GWh in April, up 124% YoY, but down 26% MoM. In April, the massive outbreak of COVID-19 in China disrupted the production and sales of some battery makers. The output of NMC batteries was 10.3 Gwh, down 34% MoM, but up 54% YoY. The output of LFP batteries was 18.6 Gwh, down 21% MoM, but up 200% YoY. The proportion of LFP batteries recovered to about 64%, while that of NMC batteries stood at 35%.
The installed capacity of power batteries totalled 13.3 GWh in April, down 38% month-on-month, but up 58% year-on-year. The large-scale COVID lockdowns across Liaoning, the Yangtze River Delta region and other areas hindered the transportation, which, coupled with suppressed end demand, resulted in a decline in the installed capacity. The installed capacity of NMC batteries was 4.4 Gwh, a decrease of 47% MoM and 15.6% YoY. The installed capacity of LFP batteries was 8.9 Gwh, down 33% MoM, but up 177% YoY.
