[SMM Computing Power News] Green Electricity Direct Connection Traceability Limited; Ningxia Offers the Largest Cost Discounts

SMM learned that the rules for direct green electricity connections have been further clarified. Under the grid-connection direct-connection model, small-volume green electricity is temporarily unable to complete traceability certification; only after signing a power purchase contract through formal green electricity trading channels can an application be submitted for the corresponding green electricity certificate to complete traceability. Meanwhile, green electricity direct-connection projects nationwide are uniformly required to pay power sales and distribution-related fees in accordance with Document No. 11925, with the Northwest region offering the largest discounts nationwide. SMM believes that the higher traceability threshold will drive computing-power enterprises to shift from physical direct connections to contract-based direct procurement; after the fee basis is unified, differences in regional discounts may further amplify the electricity price advantage in western China. In the Horinger New Area of Inner Mongolia, the electricity prices for direct green electricity supply to households are approximately 0.33–0.36 yuan/kWh.

[SMM Computing Power News] Northwest H100 annual rental at 87,000, single-unit rental of scattered resources

SMM has learned that one H100 server in north-west China is available for external rental, with a minimum lease term of one year, at a monthly rent of 87,000 yuan per unit per month. The configuration includes an 8-GPU HGX module, 1TB of memory, and a 400G network card. Compared with the closed-end price of 75,000–76,000 yuan for four- to five-year leases in the same region in August, this deal represents an increase of 11,000–12,000 yuan, or approximately 15%. SMM believes that the rise in H-series rental prices reflects an increase in the premium on available inventory resources.

[SMM Computing Power Midday Review] A100 monthly rental prices catch up, H200 long-term contract leasing exceeds 130,000

The lowest monthly rent for A100-80G in the Yangtze River Delta rose to 38,000 yuan (up 8.6%), and the average rose to 39,000 yuan (up 4.0%), while the highest price of 40,000 yuan remained unbroken; the other 18 indices stayed flat. In the Northwest, the five-year closed monthly rent for 64 H200 units was 132,000 yuan (up 3.1% from 128,000 yuan), reaching the upper edge of 130,000 yuan for the first time; in the Southwest, the three-year closed all-inclusive rent for 256 Pro 6000D units was 32,000 yuan, with quotes for compliance-restricted models probing the lower edge. Data center-grade existing cards tightened, long-term leasing agreements strengthened, and market stratification intensified.
