Indonesia and Tajikistan explored multiple bilateral cooperation initiatives, including a US$2 billion alumina investment plan. Tajikistan's Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and Fadrol Rahman, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, held relevant discussions. Ambassador Fadrol expressed gratitude for Tajikistan's plan to invest US$2 billion in an alumina processing project in Indonesia and stated that the project would be further expanded based on demand. This discussion was held in preparation for the upcoming "High-Level International Conference on Glacier Protection." In addition to the alumina industry, Tajikistan also plans to process Indonesian palm oil domestically, producing green products for sale to neighboring countries and border regions of China. During the talks, Ambassador Fadrol also proposed continuing to advance the cooperation initiatives agreed upon by the two countries at the 2024 Bali World Water Forum, including knowledge and technology exchanges and hydropower investment cooperation. Tajikistan has extensive experience in hydropower, with 90% of its domestic electricity generated from hydropower and exported to neighboring countries. Currently, the potential of the Kayan River Hydropower Station Project in Bulungan County, North Kalimantan Province, Indonesia, exceeds 13,000 MW, with part of the electricity to be used to support the construction of the new capital city, Nusantara.
