DMC Prices To Stabilize At Lows

Currently, mainstream transaction prices of DMC are stable at 14,400-14,500 yuan/mt.

Looking at the future, SMM believed that DMC prices will mainly fluctuate at the low level in the short term. Demand has weakened recently. In terms of costs, there will be stable cost support from silicon metal prices. In addition, the operating rate of DMC plants edged down, and constant maintenance and production cutbacks will be monitored.

The inventory grew slightly during the holiday, the steel mills cut output of rebar in favour of wire rod [SMM survey]

During the survey period (April 30-May 6), the weekly output of rebar decreased and the output of wire rod increased at steel mills in central China this week. The total inventory of steel mills increased slightly, but the inventory trends of rebar and wire rod were differentiated. It is expected that the output of steel mills in central China will increase in the next period.
