China Coke Exports To Grow Significantly In April With The Opening Of Export Window

SHANGHAI, Apr 27 (SMM) - In March, China's coke export volume was 711,000 mt, an increase of 28.6% month-on-month, and a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.

SHANGHAI, Apr 27 (SMM) - In March, China's coke export volume was 711,000 mt, an increase of 28.6% month-on-month, and a year-on-year increase of 5.8%. The cumulative export from January to March was 1.965 million mt.

In March, China mainly exported coke to Indonesia, Brazil and India, of which 331,000 mt was exported to Indonesia, accounting for 46.6% of the total export volume; 83,000 mt was exported to Brazil, accounting for 11.7% of the total export volume; and 64,000 mt went in India, accounting for 9% of the total export volume.

In the first quarter, only January's export was significantly higher than that of the same period last year.

At present, domestic coke prices continue to fall, but overseas coke prices remain relatively high, thus the export window is open. It is expected that coke exports will grow significantly in April.
