According to SMM, as of August 17, nearly 20 steel mills in north-west regions (Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Chongqing) suspended the production.

SHANGHAI, Aug 17 (SMM) - According to SMM, as of August 17, nearly 20 steel mills in north-west regions (Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Chongqing) suspended the production. The power rationing is expected to continue for a week. The output is expected to decline 57,000 mt/day, but the actual output may decline 13,000 mt/day as the operating rates are low in the early stage.
