SHANGHAI, Jul 6 (SMM) — According to the SMM data, the price of spodumene concentrate (6%, CIF China) has risen recently.

SHANGHAI, Jul 6 (SMM) - According to the SMM data, the price of spodumene concentrate (6%, CIF China) has risen recently. As of July 4, its spot price has risen to $4,900-5,100/mt, with an average price of $5,000/mt.
SMM historical prices show that battery-grade lithium carbonate prices rose from 278,000 yuan/mt at the beginning of the year to 469,000 yuan/mt on June 30, an increase of 68.7%.
SMM expects that the price of lithium carbonate will not increase too much in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, lithium carbonate may be in short supply, due to production reduction in Qinghai caused by low temperature, NEV makers’ rush to achieve annual production and sales targets at year-end, as well as recovery of electronics consumption.
