SHANGHAI, May 9 (SMM) - According to SMM survey, the current anode material prices are generally stable.

SHANGHAI, May 9 (SMM) - According to SMM survey, the current anode material prices are generally stable. Mainstream anode material plants adjusted their prices in April, and maintained full production during the Labour Day holidays. In terms of cost, the price of low-sulphur coke remained stable, while the price of needle coke rose. Graphitisation plants charged high conversion margins, but the increase was within an acceptable range for large anode material plants. Some anode material plants ramped up new capacity, while others delayed capacity release due to the pandemic. Given still restricted graphitisation capacity and strong downstream demand, anode material supply will remain tight in the short term.
