The latest report from DSCC, a market survey agency, predicts that the area of panel capacity will grow by only 7 per cent in 2022 and by about 5 per cent in the next three years. At the same time, as Korean factories gradually withdraw their production capacity, their market share will gradually fall to single digits. The market share of mainland Chinese manufacturers will exceed 70% this year, while Chinese Taiwanese manufacturers will drop slightly to less than 20%.
According to the Industrial and Commercial Times of Taiwan, TV panels account for the highest proportion of production capacity in terms of apps, reaching 72%, 74%, and CAGR is about 4.8% in 2021-2026. During the same period, the proportion of OLED TV under Samsung display and LG display increased from 2% to 6% to 18% for CAGR in mobile IT apps, while 14% for mobile applications. CAGR for LCD panels is only 3% for mobile devices.
From a regional point of view, the market share of panel factories in mainland China continues to increase and will reach 72% in 2022, of which the market share of production capacity in TV panels is 82%, in LCD panels is about 76%, and in OLED panels is about 46%. Although China's Taiwan panel factory has slightly expanded its production capacity, its market share will gradually fall from 20% in 2021 to 16% in 2026. The market share of Korean factory in OLED panel market is about 53% MUE 55%.
